Early drafts of published essays and previously unpublished pieces that have been waiting for their day in the limelight.
First Drafts

SYNDICATED
I pitched Emily St. James for her newsletter, “Episodes,” an (already written, unbeknownst to her) essay on loving 90s classic, Boy Meets World. She suggested a less personal narrative essay about half the length what I’d initially written. I’m proud of the resulting article published on "Episodes" but I still like the original draft which is as much about the surreal nature of whiteness and suburbia as it is the series.

Dirty with a twist
The draft of my second piece published with Polyester, and ode to my favorite cocktail. They’ll often ask twist or with an olive but the truth is, you can have it all!

Doll Parts
My thoughts on Barbie, both the doll and the film, are so fleeting that I forgotten I’d written about both.
